Today (November 7th, 2011) is the 2-year anniversary of the intensely retarded night I wrote a story, which is now a zine, called Another Girl about. Let us all celebrate the fact that 2 years later I spent my unseasonably warm November 7th sleeping and watching 2 episodes of America’s Next Top Model: All-Stars instead of participating in a awkward sexual experience by: buying Another Girl for a mere three dollars (chump change!), reading Another Girl, and ultimately/inevitably falling in love with Another Girl. In addition to awkward sex, Another Girl is about: color scales made of ice cream, American flag-print underwear, Muppets, a black cat, and Paul McCartney’s bodacious ass. It features the sentence, “There’s a reason I date dudes, and it’s not Because I think Beyonce has a hot body.”
Another Girl is illustrated by the genius illustrator Jen May, who today spent her day writing the word “George” over and over again so I can get it tattooed on my wrist.
I truly do believe that this is a piece of writing all women would benefit from reading. I benefited from writing it, and am very happy to have spent the past 2 years self-actualizing into a woman who will never pretend to be “the most adorable little bitch who’d be played by Zooey Deschanel in a 500 Days of stupid Summer style subverted rom-com ever” to appease a man again.
full six-zine set arrived...other day. Feels good to hold tangible zines in
